I spent the first 6 months of 1969 on the Sunshine tour playing golf, then off to 1 Signal Regiment at Valhalla for basic training. During that time, I did two 3-month stints on the border.
Played Free State and Western Transvaal country districts golf from 1970 to 1981, after which I just played to enjoy the game, which I still do.
In 1974, I joined Afrox. I spent 35 years with them all over the country in the Industrial gas and welding market. I moved to the West Coast in 1988 as Area Manager with Afrox and retired in Langebaan in 2009.
I am married to Sharon. We have three sons and one grandson who are scattered all over the country: Pretoria, Durban and Vredenburg.
