After matriculating at Grey College, I did my basic military service and then went into the cycle business in Bloemfontein. I then got involved with the Bloemfontein Chamber of Commerce and was honoured to be elected as president for a year. I thoroughly enjoyed this and met some interesting people on the way.
I met my wife, Marilyn Geffin, who was the daughter of Okey Geffin, the Springbok rugby player, known as “the boot”. We were married in Johannesburg in 1980 and lived in Bloemfontein. We were blessed with 3 children.
We moved to Cape Town in 1990. I took up the position of Head of the Cape Town branch of Probike. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge in the Cape, but unfortunately our son of 5 years old passed away from cancer.
In 2002 we moved to Sydney, where Marilyn and I run an art, craft and toy store. Our children are both married and we are blessed with three grandchildren.
I have great memories of a wonderful school and wish you all a fabulous reunion.
